Back to school-5th Grade!

I cannot believe that I am in 5th grade!  3rd and 4th flew by.  They are splitting my class this year and adding new students.  Andy is going back to the Bridge School.  I will miss him.  I took this picture with some of my friends.

December

So far December has been a fun month!  We got a little snow about tens days ago, but still had school!!!!!  That's Sabrina.
It's still dark when we get to school, because school starts at 8:00 am.
Mom taught art to all the elementary classes.  She found this great project on drawing the Northern Lights.  Here is mine:

I also have Hapkido, and on Thursday's, Sabrina comes too, so Thursdays are always more fun.
 We got to be partners.
Sabrina got to practice on me and I on her.
Grand Master took me down to demonstrate what we were learning.  It happened so fast!
  I
I am glad that school is finally out for Winter Break, but fortunately, there will still be Hapkido to do!

4th Grade School Picture

This year's photo turned out way better than 3rd Grade.  Mom volunteered and made sure that the elementary students had good hair, straight necklaces and shirts, and coats off.  Compare to last year.....

Book Report & Marketplace at KMVA

Besides an animal report, we had a book report presentation to give.  I did a lego diorama of a scene from: "The Land Of Stories-The Wishing Spell".  I built a scene of Queen Red Riding Hood running up the stairs in a dilapidated castle.  The stairs are crumbling beneath her as she tries to escape from the big bad wolf gang.
I like doing book reports.  Mom said: Good thing because you will do more in 4th grade.
This year was my first marketplace.   Kids get to make things to sell.  They earn KMVA bucks.  I spent most of the money I earned on games.

Elliot had a toss the ball in the hole game.  I had the second best record of winning.
 Andy had a ring toss.

Other kids drew things or made bracelets, had food etc...
After market place, the 3rd graders got to goof off.  Only a day and a half of school left!

What I have been up to.....

I have been busy with normal everyday things.  We did Easter at Aunt Megan's and Uncle Patrick's in West Seattle.  They had a really big egg hunt!  That's me searching...
Here I am with all my cousins on my father's side of the family  (The Henley's)

After all the picture taking we got to go through our booty.  I couldn't eat any of the candy because they all had corn or dairy.  Mom got me some candy from Starbuck's.  After Easter, my dojo was training for a competition.  I did not participate, but I helped my karate friends get ready by sparring with them.

Mom cut her hair.  I liked it better the other way, but she's still my mom.
Poppa got out of the hospital/recovery center and came over to play Bocce Balls.  We played around the yard.

School is going well.  I tested into the highly capable program.  On "choice day", I am taking Maker's.  We make/build stuff.

I helped build this marble run with Seth and Andy.  Mom's in the classroom too, she helps out and teaches knitting to the kids who are interested.
My friend Andy comes home with us on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday.  We do homework together and then play until his mother comes for him.  Andy also does karate with me.

Last Day of School 2015!

On December 18th, my class had a party!  Fancy dress was encouraged.   Not much learning was going on,  Parents came with food and the 6th graders helped to decorate.
My teacher, Miss Newby was really happy!

There was a lot of food!  My mom brought allergy free cup cakes for me and two other girls in my class.
Andy, Mahi, Reese and I wore suits.  Reese and Mahi had ties!
After food, there were crafts!  Seth and I are working on marshmallow snow men.
We did scratch art over here.

Ow!  I hit my knee running around the crowded room!
It was fun, but after two hours, I had had enough partying and socializing, so I read my book!
Mom and I left at 1:15! Which was good.  It gave me time to rest before karate and and evening Christmas Party at Claire's house.

Almost Halloween

On Friday, October 30th, we were allowed to wear our costumes to KMVA.
When Mom picked me up, she had her camera.  I was slender man again.
He's this creepy internet guy that wears a suit in the forest.  He lives off children's souls.  Scary huh?

My third grade classmates all started getting into the picture.

 And more...
I decided to run and get my mask.  Otherwise it looks like I am just wearing a suit.  That's not very scary.
Oh there's Andy.  He's the lone ranger.  Not sure where he was running around....
 Ok, got the mask

This is my full costume.  Later that same day, Mom and I went to the Halloween party at the dojo.
 I found Sabrina.

Elliot was Hiccup from "How to Train Your Dragon".  Andy is below with Claire and Sabrina.  We stayed for about 45 minutes.  Fortunately, we did not do the haunted house.  I hear from Sabrina's Mom that it was scary.  Too scary.  Halloween Day was awful around here.  He had a lot of rain and wind.
