Terracotta Warriors

Today, Mom and I went with Andrea, Barbara, Andy and Elliot to The Pacific Science Center to see a movie about the First Emperor of China and the Terracotta Warriors. 

 They were really cool.  Each one has a different face.  They also have different jobs depending on how they are dressed.

 They even had horses!

 This exhibit did have some interactive parts.  Here we could build different kinds of warriors.  Andy and I tried our hand at creating something.....

 but Elliot (Andy's older brother) won with this creation below.

 I really liked this suit of armor-it's made out of stone and 2,200 years old!

 In this room, we got to see what the terracotta warriors looked like way back in 200 BC.  All painted.  They were really neat!

 There were several other inter active displays.  My favorite one was on the First Emperor, Qin's  (pronounced Chin) battle strategies.  I found military strategies to be fascinating, and then this little girl came along and pulled the plug.  The program needed to be reset by an employee.  Uhg, silly girl.  The activity below, Andy and I were archaeologists re constructing a warrior's head.

 Archaeologists have realized that this dig is HUGE, and since it's discovery in 1974, they realize that Emperor Qin's tomb is buried nearby in a 10 story under ground palace.  Archaeologists have not tried digging up the tomb, until they can find a way not to damage the artifacts.  His tomb is supposed to have unknown treasures with his sarcophagus surrounded by a river or mercury!  The museum tried to depict it below.

Then we moved into the main part of the museum.  Andy, Elliot and I got into this hurricane machine.

 Then we moved on to the tinkering station where we worked on electronics.  I'm hooking stuff up to a battery.

 This was all in the shadow of the Space Needle.  A man named Colin helped us.

 We had a really good day.

The Lion King

 I have been helping my old school, The Bridge School, with it's first theater production, "The Lion King Kids".  The rehearsals sometimes were long and boring, but last night, out first performance was fun!

 Mom did the costumes and here are the lions: Scar, Simba, Mufasa and the girl in purple is Zazu, the bird.

 To the right are Pumba the warthog and Timon, the meerkat.  Elliot played Mufasa.  He's above in the yellow.

 I am/was a Rafiki, one of the story's narrators.  Andy (second from the right) had a low fever and still got on stage.  He looked really bad after the show.  But he's resting today so that he has the energy to go on tonight.  Tonight is our final performance.

 Mom got to sit up in the booth with tech expert Tatum.  She was helping Tatum with the music volume.  There was an extra seat up here, so my Dad got to sit up there and watch the show.

Almost Halloween

On Friday, October 30th, we were allowed to wear our costumes to KMVA.

 When Mom picked me up, she had her camera.  I was slender man again.

He's this creepy internet guy that wears a suit in the forest.  He lives off children's souls.  Scary huh?

 My third grade classmates all started getting into the picture.

 And more...

 I decided to run and get my mask.  Otherwise it looks like I am just wearing a suit.  That's not very scary.

 Oh there's Andy.  He's the lone ranger.  Not sure where he was running around....

 This is my full costume.  Later that same day, Mom and I went to the Halloween party at the dojo.

 I found Sabrina.

 Elliot was Hiccup from "How to Train Your Dragon".  Andy is below with Claire and Sabrina.  We stayed for about 45 minutes.  Fortunately, we did not do the haunted house.  I hear from Sabrina's Mom that it was scary.  Too scary.  Halloween Day was awful around here.  He had a lot of rain and wind.

Seattle Center-AGAIN!

My mother tends to bring me here several times a year.  She heard that there was a new playground by the EMP and wanted to check it out with Andrea, Elloit, Andy and Colin (not my uncle).

 It was crazy!  Lots of ropes and platforms.  The slides were up really high!

 The slides were a little too high for me, but not for Elliot, Andy and Colin.  I stayed low but still had fun.

 

 After the jungle gym, we decided to go geocaching.  Colin had never done it.  We hit the Dinosaur Train one behind the PBS station.  The next one was in the Opera House parking garage.  We trekked over and it was hard to find.  There was a community garden on top of the parking garage!

 It was really lovely up here, but I found the sun too bright and had to wear Mom's sunglasses!

There were even plants growing out of this car!!!

 

 

It turned out that the cache was not in the garden, but on the wall of the parking garage.  We are signing the book above.

 Time for lunch at the Armory/Center House.  We walked through this fountain at the Opera House.

 Those Betsy Johnson glasses look awesome on me!  After waiting in LONG LONG lines (Dota 2 International gaming competitors) to get Subway sandwiches, we ate and set out for .....

 The International Fountain!!!!!

 This fountain is so much fun.

 Andy and I are right next to it, waiting for the water to explode from it.

 Andy and I took a break before we went back in.  Then I was ready to head home.  It was a good day .
