July

Mom and I cam back from the Mid-West with no plans.  We do have some structure, get up before 8, walk dogs, meet/play with friends, learn. how to cook and karate.
This is one of our local beaches. Mom and I like to walk down here, it is a steep walk through the woods with redwoods ending up at the Sound.  The fog was in when we arrived.
It rolled out before we left.  You can faintly see Mt. Rainier in the middle of the picture.
I still love walking on the logs.
My new favorite creative thing to do is to cook and bake.  Mom let's me use all the knives!  I am making one of my favorite things to eat, chicken fried rice.  First cutting the chicken...

 onions...
  carrots-no peas, I dislike peas!
Heating up the oil in the wok, adding the onions....

I really enjoy this, so Mom has been getting me into the kitchen to help out.  One more month of summer vacation and then school starts, September 1 rst!

Hello Chicago!

Sophie, Uncle Colin, Mom & I went into the city.  We took the Metro train in.  It was warm although it was before 10:00 am.
From the train station, we walked to The Sears Tower, we passed the river.
Here we are at the base of the Tower!
We then walked between the Sears Tower and the Hancock Tower.
I got tired and had to have a snack.
Our next stop was Millennium Park.  I was cranky.  I got annoyed with Mom because she said I was cranky!  It seemed to take forever to get to the Hancock Tower.  Fortunately, we did, but we went to the bar instead of the observation deck.

Uncle Colin and Mom liked it.  They ordered a beer!  The observation Deck is one more story up.
I got hungry and we went down to the basement where the Cheesecake Factory was.  They have a gluten free menu.
We had yo pass by this fountain to get to the Cheesecake Factory.  I got yelled at for disturbing the water.
We ate, I felt better.  We decided to head back to Oak Park!  I was so happy.
I got to ride a subway and then the El.  That was my favorite part!
Sophie and I ended the day by playing softball.  We had a lot of fun.

Oak Park, IL

Mom, Grandma Judy, and I drove from Minnesota to Chicago to visit Uncle Colin, Aunt Lori, and one of my cousins, Sophie.  Oak Park is a really nice suburb filled with old houses and courtyard apartment buildings from the late 19th century, early 20th century.
We walked by a bunch of Frank Lloyd Wright homes.

 and another..
 and another
 You guessed it!
Finally we ended up by Frank Lloyd Wright's house and studio.

It was closed, but we peeked in the window.  This ended up being a four mile walk!  But it felt good since we spent a lot of time in the car.
